Financing Divorce

Discussion questions:

  1. Do you think it’s fair that financiers are allowed to get a share of the settlement while divorce lawyers don’t?
  2. What do you think of the idea that lending to divorcees is growing?
  3. Who do you think would be willing to take divorce loans and why?
  4. Thinking back to the marriage and divorce graph, why do you think both have been decreasing in recent decades?

  1. I believe it is fair for financiers to get a part of the share because they spent a lot of time in the case, especially if it is a big divorce, that involves a lot of money. They are using part of their time, maybe a lot, that is why i think they should.

  2. I honestly think that lending loans for is a great idea for those who are not that financial prepare to pay for all the lawyers need for a divorce. I feel that there would be a lot of people that would benefit from this especially for people are stalling on the divorce because they are not financially prepared to pay for all the expenses, so i think this is a great idea.
