Home Prices Rise, Aided by Strong Hiring Growth

  • How have you felt the high housing prices, since we live in one of the most expensive areas in the country?
  • What are your predictions on our future economy? Are there any factors that you believe could cause a real estate bubble that could eventually burst?
  • What are your opinions of affordable housing in the Bay Area? Should the cities spend money on creating affordable housing, since the demand is high?

  1. In my opinion, I do think that the Bay Area housing is really expensive. For example living here in San Mateo, the price is already high. I think this can also relate to minimum wage topic. In San Fransisco I know that they have $15/hour, which I think helps compensate for the expensive housing there.
Also because the demand is high for affordable housing, producers/sellers need to find that price equilibrium in order to make the customer happy, but be able to still make profit.
