  1. I think that it's interesting that supply and demand plays a high role in why oil prices are going down. More people are demanding less of oil, while there is an increasing amount of oil. The lower demand and higher supply because not as many people are buying the oil. I think its good that we are turning to alternative engines but I think the oil supply and demand is an issue for some countries.

  2. In regards to the second article, I think that another reason that low-income students are choosing other paths than going to college is because there are more opportunities to earn money. Larry Katz, a Harvard economist, believes that while "skilled workers can earn good wages early in their careers... their earnings cap out early, too. Ultimately... college graduates will make about 60 percent more than those without a degree." I agree that people should lean towards the college path; however, there are instances where perhaps college is not the direct path that someone should go towards because of other reasons in their lives that may affect their decisions after high school. Currently, there's a shortage of blue-collar workers for manual and technical jobs. As demand for these skills increases in coming years, economists say wages will, too.
